The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference is hosting several events dealing with “Conversations on Intercultural Communication.” Bishop Johnson is asking that each church send at least three people to participate. The closest event will be February 21, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Wesley UMC in Bethlehem. Lunch is included and the church will cover the registration fee. Other “conversations” will be held on the other districts on different dates. Please see Pastor Dave if you can attend.
Family Game Night returns on Friday evening, January 16. All are welcome as we play board games, fellowship, and enjoy refreshments together. Please bring your favorite game and a snack to share. The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m., and we hope to see you.
Valentines for Veterans: The Sunday School will be collecting Valentines until February 8th. You may make Valentines or just sign store bought Valentines. A collection box is in the Main Sunday School room. Remember: NO loose objects and DO NOT seal the envelopes.
“Give It Up!” for Lent
For our Lenten Study this year we’ll be using Dottie Escobedo-Frank’s work, “Give it Up!” This “user-friendly,” study raises up the distractions that are part of our 21st century living, and how we might properly use, but not abuse, the latest advances in our world. Our group will have sessions on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. beginning February 23, and Wednesday morning sessions at 10:00 a.m. beginning February 25. This is a 7 session study, so we will meet on Holy Week and have our concluding session the week after Easter.
We will be taking orders for the Study guide for those who wish to order it through the church. If you wish to order directly from your favorite book supplier here is the information you’ll need:
