The Eastern Pennsylvania Conference is hosting several events dealing with “Conversations on Intercultural Communication.” Bishop Johnson is asking that each church send at least three people to participate. The closest event will be February 21, from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Wesley UMC in Bethlehem. Lunch is included and the church will cover the registration fee. Other “conversations” will be held on the other districts on different dates. Please see Pastor Dave if you can attend.

“Give It Up!” for Lent
For our Lenten Study this year we’ll be using Dottie Escobedo-Frank’s work, “Give it Up!” This “user-friendly,” study raises up the distractions that are part of our 21st century living, and how we might properly use, but not abuse, the latest advances in our world. Our group will have sessions on Monday evenings at 7:00 p.m. beginning February 23, and Wednesday morning sessions at 10:00 a.m. beginning February 25. This is a 7 session study, so we will meet on Holy Week and have our concluding session the week after Easter. We will be taking orders for the Study guide for those who wish to order it through the church. If you wish to order directly from your favorite book supplier here is the information you’ll need: Title: Give it Up: A Lenten Study for Adults Author: Dottie Excobedo-Frank Publisher: Abingdon Press (abingdonpress.com) ISBN: 978-1-4267- January 4th: Sunday school 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.
January 11th: Sunday school 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. January 18th: Sunday school 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. January 25th: After Church Fellowship, Sunday school 11:00 – 11:30 a.m. * Valentines for Veterans: We will be collecting Valentines until February 8th. * “Souper Bowl Sunday”: We will be collecting cans of soup & non-perishable food items for P.U.M.P. until February 1st. The blue bucket will be in the Narthex. Sunday school children will also be holding their soup pot collection following Worship on February for monetary donations. We are going to try to get together once each month with our meetings set to be the second Wed. of each month. January’s meeting will be on January 14th (weather permitting, of course).
