We’ll look forward to seeing you this Sunday as we partake of all of the goodness of God at the Lord’s Table. Our text for the morning continues in John, and we’ll look at how Jesus went beyond miraculously feeding the 5000 for a day and offered spiritual nourishment for eternity.

Don’t overeat at lunch this coming Sunday, because you’re going to want to come and “pig out,” at our Free Community Dinner from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Pork Chops with all the fixings and a whole trough load of desserts will have you oinking with joy! Let Roger Schwartz know how you can help out, and by all means, come out and dine with our neighbors as we seek to include them in our midst.

All of the young people of our community are invited to receive our prayers as we bless their backpacks on Sunday, August 30. We’ll also be inviting all educators, school personnel, retired teachers and others to join in laying hands on our young people as they begin a new school year.

It’s a little early to be thinking of cold and snow, but kids grades 3 through 6 might want to be thinking about Pocono Plateau’s Winter Jamboree, Tuesday, December 29 – Thursday, December 31. This is a great event to shake off the winter blahs and combine, fun, adventure, and bible study. The cost is just $89.00 and scholarship funds are available. Visit www.poconoplateau.org or talk to Pastor Dave for more information.
On September 14 at 7:00 p.m. we will be holding orientation sessions for men interested in forming a United Methodist Men’s unit and women who would find an evening circle of United Methodist Women beneficial to their spiritual lives. Please set the date aside and hear about the exciting ministries these groups are doing in their local towns and throughout the world.
The annual Book Sale is back by popular request!! It will be held on Friday August 14th and Saturday August 15th . Book donations will gladly be accepted from August 3rd to August 11th . Help is definitely needed to sort and set-up the books during the first 2 weeks of August— daytime and evening. Please let Stacy Pysher (610) 317-2671 or Lisa Schwartz (610) 588-8881 know when you can help. EVERYONE is welcome to help. You don’t have to be an avid reader to be of assistance. (In fact, if you are not a reader you will probably be more efficient with setup than some of us who tend to “browse” as we are sorting. Bake sale items will be needed, too.
