MEET OUR PASTOR
Rev Dave Goss has the special privilege of serving as shepherd-servant at East Bangor United Methodist Community Church, returning to the congregation in 2012.. Pastor Dave was ordained in 1987 and has served churches in East Stroudsburg, Richmond, Allentown and Easton, as well as Intentional Interim appointments in Stroudsburg and Mt. Pocono. Pastor Dave has also served extension ministries at Allentown Center City Ministries, Methodist Home for Children, and Kirkridge Retreat Center. This is his second term at East Bangor, having previously served the congregation from 1999 - 2003. He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Combs College of Music and a Master of Divinity from Drew Theological School. He is certified as a Trained Intentional Interim Minister.
Dave has been married to his lovely wife Laura since 1980. Laura is the long-time Executive Director of the PoconoArts Council and bassoonist with the woodwind trio "Calliope," as well as being active in freelance work. They have two adult sons, their partners, 2 children at home, and 4 additional grandchildren. Also part of their family are cats Kittatinny Kitty, Pooters, Boots, Trixie, Chloe, Bear, and Watkins, and their dog, Lacey.
Pastor Dave is chair of the Advisory Board for Northampton County Children, Youth and Families, chair of the Slate Belt Ministerium, and a member of the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference Committee on Disability Ministries, the Northeast District Transformation Team, The United Methodist Association for Ministers with Disabilities, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia (Beta), The Society for American Baseball Research, and the Baseball Reliquary.
