On Monday, April 6, we’ll be taking on a 5 week study on the oft-criticized Letter of James. The early Christians laid claim that its author was James the Just, the brother of Jesus. It was included in the canon of the New Testament despite its emphasis on works as well as faith. At the time of the Reformation, Martin Luther, was openly critical of the value of the letter, terming it a “straw epistle.” Is “faith without works dead,” as James testifies? Or, was Martin Luther correct in his criticisms? We invite you to join us at 7:00 p.m. and decide for yourself.
